In Need Of A Vehicle? Rebuilding Wheels Rebuilding Lives Program Giving Car Away

The Rebuilding Wheels Rebuilding Lives program is calling for people in need of a vehicle to apply for the program through its community partner Family Services Windsor Essex.
New applications are being accepted for the program, which engages high school students to repair a vehicle, which was donated by a local resident this time around, for individuals and families living in low income who require transportation to gain or maintain employment. The selected recipient receives a one-time gift of a donated used vehicle.
So far, one vehicle has been donated to a recipient, and a second vehicle is now available to be donated to the successful applicant.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Be a Windsor or Essex County resident
- Be Living in low income
- Hold valid Ontario driver’s license
- Hold a verifiable job
- Be able to afford ongoing cost of owning a car (fuel, insurance, regular maintenance)
- Have exhausted other funding opportunities
