The Essex Region Conservation Authority has extended its flood watch for Windsor-Essex.
They say due to the rainfall received over the last two days in the Essex Region, the resulting existing wet ground conditions and current forecasts advising of the potential for another 15 mm to 25 mm of precipitation over the next 12 hour period, the potential for flooding exists throughout the region especially in low lying areas adjacent to and within floodplain areas on all major waterways.
In addition, ERCA says due to the potential for high intensity isolated thunderstorms to produce more than 25 mm of precipitation in a short duration, there is an enhanced possibility of flooding and drainage problems throughout the entire region, especially in urban areas, in the specific locations affected by these potential downpours.
The flood watch has been extended until 9am Tuesday.
