Windsor’s future Multi-Modal Cargo Development continues to take shape on the grounds of Windsor Airport.
The development includes a 35,000-square-foot building to be leased by FedEx Canada Ltd, a 10,000-square-foot building for the University of Windsor’s Institute for Border Logistics and Security (IBLS) and a 27,000-square-foot building for a future cargo related tenant.
Construction started on the site in September, and work on the roof of the FedEx building is complete. In the office area, the floors are poured and the walls are framed in. Masonry work on that building is almost complete. For the IBLS structure, the masonry work is expected to be done this week and the steel work is eighty per cent complete. The cargo building construction is progressing as well. For that building, the steel is up and the roof is finished. The exterior walls on the office area are framed and ready for panels.
Officials report that construction is on schedule and on budget.
