Tired of waiting in long lines at the Tim Hortons at the CAW Student Centre at UWindsor? If so, the University has a solution: make it yourself.
In a report going to the University of Windsor’s Board of Governors next week, Food Service says that they have been in negotiation with Tim Hortons for several years to open a self serve Tim Hortons in the Marketplace Cafe, and earlier this year permission was granted. They are now in the final stages of the design of this space.
They say that the self serve Tim Hortons will allow the Marketplace in the CAW Student Centre to open earlier and “provide customers with their preferred products and give students the opportunity to pickup “grab and go” options earlier in the day.
The report says that this opportunity will also enable Food Services to manage the long lines that form at the Tim Hortons kiosk in the CAW Student Centre Atrium during peak times, which is “a chronic complaint from its customers”.
The change means that the stand alone Tim Hortons will only be open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and closed on weekends. Currently it is open 7:30am to 9pm on weekdays, closing at 5 on Fridays and from 9am to 6pm on Weekends.
