A 5-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after she was burned Thursday afternoon in the 2600 block of Lauzon Road around 1pm.

The girl was playing with a lighter and accidentally caught her dress on fire.

Fire officials say that 33% of her body was burned. She will be transported to London for treatment

An adult female has second degree burns to her hands from assisting the child. She was treated and released from hospital.

A fire investigator is on scene and the Ontario Fire Marshal has been called.
