A double house fire on Assumption Street has been ruled an arson.
Windsor Fire says 833 Assumption was intentionally set on fire. The blaze started outside the house and caught the entire building on fire.
It then spread to and destroyed the neighbouring house.
Damage is set at $500,000.
One unit was reported to be vacant.
Transit Windsor buses were brought in to keep people warm who had to escape the flames.
Flames shot through the roof of both structure and firefighters conducted defensive operations.
At one point, Tecumseh Fire sent one unit to the city for mutual aid city coverage.
