The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is looking for input on whether to consider changing the default speed limit for local roads within urban areas.

The Ministry is looking for at several options including, to maintain current default speed limit of 50 km/h, reduce the default speed limit from 50 km/h to 40 km/h, permit municipalities to set a default speed limit of 50 km/h or 40 km/h inside municipal boundaries or permit municipalities to set a different default speed limit inside municipal boundaries or neighbourhoods.

You can provide comments and/or complete a questionnaire available on-line here until February 27th, 2015.
