ENWIN Utilities Ltd. presented Valiant Machine & Tool Inc. the GreenSTAR Award of Excellence.

In addition they also received a incentive cheque for $270,307.17 for plant lighting, compressed air, and HVAC improvements under the IESO’s Electricity Retrofit Incentive Initiative conservation program at their newly renovated facility.

Valiant’s Chief Executive Officer, Frank Burnside along with other key members of the executive team accepted the award on behalf of Valiant.

Valiant earned the GreenSTAR Award after completing plant renovations to their lighting systems, compressed air systems, and HVAC upgrades at several of their Windsor facilities. While reducing overall usage by more than 600 kilowatts, Valiant also put in place recycling programs, employee awareness, and actively participated in ENWIN’s energy conservation educational programs.

The GreenSTAR Award of Excellence is awarded by ENWIN to Windsor companies that demonstrate a commitment to the environment, achieve significant improvements related to energy and resource conservation efforts and go above and beyond to make conservation a key part of their business plan.
