A new mobile exhibit is on the road travelling across Canada to connect, honour and inspire Canadians.
It’s An Honour! introduces the Canadian System of Honours which recognizes people for their extraordinary achievement, bravery, valour and service. Over the next two years, the mobile exhibit will journey to schools, community centres, special events and small towns across the country.
The tour travels in a specially designed vehicle around 1,000 square feet in size, is bilingual and supported by a knowledgeable guide. It is accessible to everyone and admission is free.
It features interpretative panels, multimedia elements and artifacts, the exhibit provides an opportunity for visitors of all ages to learn more about these honours and some of their recipients.
Visitors will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of insignia and medals, including the Victoria Cross, Canada’s highest honour, as well as the Order of Canada, Decorations for Bravery and a variety of military decorations, watch an inspiring hologram message from Chris Hadfield, learn more about the role and responsibilities of the Governor General of Canada and find out how they can nominate deserving individuals from their community.
