This morning, 28 unionized employees of Caesars Windsor received layoff notices including 26 full time and 2 part time staff. The layoffs will be offset by 20 part time postings. The employees affected are from table games and finance.
Kevin Laforet, Regional President, Caesars Entertainment and CEO of Caesars Windsor said, “Revenues were promising in 2014, however, in order to continue to be fiscally responsible and ensure our long term sustainability, our company is obligated to look for efficiencies in all areas of our business. The decision to reduce staff is always difficult.”
The layoffs are not related to the current restructuring of Caesars Entertainment, which manages Caesars Windsor on behalf of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
“These staffing adjustments have no correlation with Caesars Entertainment’s financial restructuring,” he said.
