Windsor’s very own Chelsea Girard was selected Thursday as Miss Teen Canada United Nations 2015 and is headed to Jamaica next summer to represent Canada.
The 16-year-old student and model was selected and invited after rigorous rounds of eliminations to represent Canada at the Miss Teen United Nations Pageants Talent, Athletics and Academic Competition next July.
Girard was crowned Miss Teen Windsor in 2013 and will compete with delegates from around the world in interview, sports wear, evening gown and fashion wear events for the title of Miss Teen United Nations.
Girard, who lists her hobbies as writing, volunteering and spending time with her family, says charity is what’s behind her ambitions.
“The Miss Teen United Nations title will give me not only a bigger platform for the homeless and sick children support, but I would also love to expand my charitable support within my community in hopes of the expansion going nation wide so all teens will get involved within their communities,” she said.
Girard will fly to Kingston, Jamaica for the pageant between July 12th and 19th, 2015.
