The Glengarry-Marentette neighbourhood is a bit safer thanks to some new lights.
The Initiative: Glengarry to Marentette held a comprehensive assessment of the neighbourhood and after extensive consultation with neighbourhood residents and support from community partners, residents identified that inadequate lighting on streets and alleyways were a safety and security concern and were a priority for the neighbourhood.
As a result of partnering with Caesars Windsor, and receiving a significant financial contribution from their twentieth anniversary Share it Forward campaign, organizers were able to purchase not only new street lights, but new LED lights.
Kevin Laforet, Regional President and CEO of Caesars Windsor, said, “In our 20th year of giving, Caesars Windsor is proud to continue our focus on community and contribute to worthwhile projects like the Glengarry to Marentette initiative. We are happy to partner with the City of Windsor, the United Way and the University of Windsor in supporting their ongoing goal in improving the neighbourhood.”
