Assumption College High School has launched its 60th annual canned food drive.
Student canvassers from the high school will be going door to door in the community collecting canned goods until December 11th.
Students will bring their donations to the school’s cafeteria, which will be converted in to “can central.” Cash contributions will also be accepted and will be used to buy discounted food from local suppliers.
The cans will be donated to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, who will distribute them to the area’s needy.
The goal is to top last year’s collection of 34,000 cans.
