Two new campaigns have kicked off to help raise awareness of Mental Health.

The first campaign, now in its second year, is a local initiative to raise awareness and funds for Mental Health through the placement of donation boxes with lime green ribbons.

The Ribbon Campaign is a local outreach initiative wherein the organization MHCSEAEC/Ten Friends Diner asks local business/retail locations to participate by allowing MHCSEAEC to place donation boxes/baskets in the hopes of raising awareness whilst also raising funds for the Ten Friends Diner Mental Health program as well as a Community Garden Project, Food and Meal Planning Program as well as a Finances and Budgeting Program for those who live day to day with mental illness.

The second, an international campaign is in its first year. Challenges individuals and companies to wear a lime green Bandage for 24 hours to help raise Mental Health awareness and raise funds for mental health.

The international #LimeGreen Challenge Campaign is setup as a primarily online challenge via social networks, email and various other digital means.

The goal is to get people talking about Mental Illness/Health and help break the existing stigma. Through the visual aid of the bandage, placed on a prominent position on the face/head it is hoped that this will stir people to talking about Mental Illnesses and Mental Health to help spread awareness about the realities, not disabilities of living with a Mental Illness.
