Rino Bortolin is the new city councillor for Ward 3.

With 103 of 103 polls reporting, Bortolin led with 1,660 votes and 39.4 per cent of the vote.

Bortolin, owner of Rino’s Kitchen in Downtown Windsor, says his first priority is rehabilitating the neighbourhoods in and around downtown.

“It’s the number one thing we want to see done. It’s the one thing we want to see the mayor and all of council jump on board with,” he said.

Bortolin said this campaign has been a long one. He commended every candidate that ran for each ward.

“It was a tough run. Everyone has put in their blood, sweat and tears,” he said. “It’s a huge effort across the board. It becomes a lot for everyone who puts their name in.”
