Final work on a section of Notre Dame street in Belle River will take place this coming week.
Starting on Tuesday, Notre Dame from First Street to Dupuis and the First Street section to the railroad tracks will have the final layer of asphalt put down.
Then on October 18th from 7am to 7pm, weather permitting, Notre Dame east of the Belle River Bridge to the South Street intersection will receive the final layer of asphalt.
The Town of Lakeshore, when reconstructing roads, places the base layer of asphalt the first year and then waits for one winter of freeze and thaw cycle.
After that first year, they return to clean up or repair any areas requiring attention, such as cracked curbs and pavement and then add the final layer of asphalt.
