Paving has been complete on the new asphalt pathways in Willistead Park.
Work on the park started last fall, which included the new ten foot wide pathway, as well as new drainage in the park. Area residents protested the pathways, and work on those was halted while a public meeting was held.
The meeting was held in November and a report came to council on March 17th. City council approved asphalt loop that will wind its way through the park.
Work on the outer loop was complete in the spring, and work stopped for Art in the Park and then continued with the remainder of the pathways a few weeks back.
Topsoil and seed is now being placed along the edge of the new pathways to blend the new paths into the grass.
