As summer draws to a close beach swimming may not be possible at certain area beaches.

Beach water testing on Wednesday September 3rd reveals high levels of bacteria at Lakeside Beach, Sandpoint Beach and West Belle River Beach. Due to possible health risks, swimming is not recommended at any of those beaches.

All other beaches are safe.

Water samples to test for E.coli are taken every Wednesday. The samples are sent to a public health lab in London. Testing is done Thursday and the results are given to the Health Unit by Friday.
