Monument To Afghanistan Vets Set To Be Unveiled

A special monument unveiling and dedication will be held this Sunday in honour of Canadian soldiers who have died in Afghanistan and Canadian Soldiers who have died on Peacekeeping missions.
The dedication will take place at Reaume Park where military personnel will march to the monument from Pillette Road, accompanied by the sounds of the Windsor Regiment Band and the Pipes and Drums of the Essex and Kent Scottish.
Mayor Francis and Members of Council, Member of Parliament Jeff Watson, Silver Cross Mother Theresa Charbonneau, Military Officials and local Veterans will be among the many gathering in Reaume Park for the ceremony.
The morning begins with the military band playing at 10:30am, followed by the march at 10:45 and the ceremony starts at 11am.
Parking on the Riverfront lot just West of Reaume Park will be reserved for dignitaries. Some seating will be available but lawn chairs are welcome.
