Got Junk? Recycle Almost Anything At Tecumseh Mall Drop Off This Saturday

Have junk lying around that you need to get rid of?

Recycle everything for a good cause this Saturday at Tecumseh Mall.

“Customers can drop off a wide variety of items at this weekend’s Go Green Recycling Drop-off – from old computers, cell phones, electronic equipment to clothing, small household items and even used vehicle tires free of charge,” says Tecumseh Mall marketing director Nancy Jarnevic.

“This event is a great opportunity for Windsorites to do a Fall clean-up and clear out some of the clutter from around their homes. In addition to diverting thousands of tonnes of waste from landfills, donations accepted this weekend will also benefit several non-profits.”

Jarnevic says the event also benefits a local soccer team.

“CAW Local 200 Computers for Kids has partnered with East Side Kickers 99s girls premier soccer team for the e-waste portion of our event,” she said. “Part of the proceeds from donated e-waste will help fund the travel and other expenses for the soccer team. Remaining proceeds will assist Computers for Kids provide computer access to children in our community via individual computer placements and after school/summer programs.”

“100 per cent of net proceeds raised by Clothesline directly support the Canadian Diabetes Association and world-leading diabetes research, education and advocacy.”

Items you can get rid of include:

  • Computer accessories (mice, keyboards, power cords, etc.)
  • Computer peripherals (printers, fax machines, scanners, etc…)

  • Cell phones
  • CRT & LCD computer monitors
  • Televisions
  • All Audio / Video Equipment
  • All non-ferrous and precious metals
  • Copper based wiring
  • Printer cartridges (used or unused)
  • Batteries
  • Clothing
  • Belts/Ties/Hats

  • Handbags/Purses
  • Bedding
  • Pillows
  • Sleeping Bags

The event takes place Saturday, September 27th from 9am until 2pm at Tecumseh Mall’s southeast parking lot near Lauzon Road.
