The Greater Essex County District School Board is making a limited number of bricks from the former Dr. H.D. Taylor Public School available as mementoes of the school’s 64 year history.
The bricks were salvaged during the demolition of the building in response to a number of requests from guests at last spring’s Farewell Open House. The structure was knocked down to make way for West Gate Public School’s parking area.
Anyone interested in receiving a brick can pick one up on Wednesday, September 24th or Thursday, September 25th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at the rear of the former W.D. Lowe secondary school on Giles Avenue (use the entrance off Parent).
