Heavy rains on Monday set a new rainfall record for August 11th, making it the second rainiest August day in history, according to Environment Canada.

Data shows 73.6mm of rain fell at Windsor Airport on Monday, most of it within a six hour period in the afternoon.

Yesterday’s rainfall beat the all-time August 11th record of 39mm, set in 1964.

More showers are on the way and the region could see an extra 20-30mm, according to Environment Canada.
