The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch.
They say due to the existing wet ground conditions, predicted rainfall of 5 to 15 mm over the next 9 hours, with the potential for 25 to 40 mm in the heaviest showers and thunderstorms and the unusual slow moving weather patterns, a possibility of flooding exists along watercourses and in low lying areas for the entire Essex region.
In addition, due to the potential for high intensity isolated thunderstorms, ERCA says there is an enhanced possibility of flooding and drainage problems throughout the entire region in the specific areas affected by these potential downpours.
The flood watch is in effect until 9am on Wednesday.
