The new Campus Bookstore replaces space previously occupied by the Thirsty Scholar Pub
The University of Windsor’s new Campus Bookstore has opened in the lower level of the CAW Student Centre.
Work began on the space that was once the Thirsty Scholar Pub back in March of 2013. During construction, the Bookstore was located in a temporary location in Vanier Hall, as its old location at the Odette School of Business was renovated for additional classroom and lecture space.
Main checkout area
The store focuses heavily on campus pride through its University of Windsor product line
The Campus Bookstore has an office supplies and electronics area with stationery, ink cartridges, computer accessories, memory cards, WiFi routers, and more.
Art supplies area
The store has an entire wall of headphones
The main textbook area is at the back of the store
Employees were still stocking shelves with textbooks for the upcoming fall semester
The bookstore has a seating area at the back with a window to a neighbouring, unfinished space that was originally planned to be used by the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance as a cafe
The Campus Bookstore has a second entrance from the Pub’s old patio. Marketing Coordinator Martin Deck says the second entrance will only be used on rare occasions such as sidewalk sales. On most days, Deck says the door to the outside patio will be locked and entry to the store will be from the main doors.
