Environment Canada has released a special weather statement advising that heavy rain and thunderstorms are headed for Windsor and Essex County.
They say an area of showers and thunderstorms will affect much of Southwestern Ontario later this morning and into the afternoon. These thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall with 20 to 40 millimetres possible locally within a short period of time.
