The City of Windsor is merging its planning and building departments in an effort to create a “One Stop Shopping Model” for development.
Officials announced the merger at noon today and say the merger will streamline development approvals and building permits under the direction of the newly named Planning and Development Department.
City Planner Thom Hunt will take on the added title and responsibility of City Planner/Executive Director of Building and Planning Services. Bill Jean, the current Deputy Building Official, will replace Chief Building Official LeeAnne Doyle who is retiring.
The city says the merger will improve customer service and efficiency.
