A unique summer program that introduces mindfulness to children through the creative and healing arts is being planned.
Healing Arts Day Camp is meant for kids between the ages of 11 and 14 and will feature art, music, yoga, energy experiments and short mindfulness practices will be explored. Themes such as kindness and compassion, gratitude, present-moment awareness, empathy, observing thoughts and feelings and focusing our attention will be taught.
Children will learn creative ways to enhance their attention skills, calm themselves during challenging situations, cultivate kindness and compassion towards themselves and others and even learn how their brains work!
More importantly, they will have the opportunity to develop a fun and caring community while learning practical skills that nurture their resilience.
The camp will take place at the Puce Sports and Leisure Centre on Wednesday, July 23rd from 9am to 3pm. The cost is $75. To Register you can contact Amy Mullins at 519-791-8313 or email [email protected].
