The Windsor University Faculty Association reports that ongoing contract negations with the University of Windsor have continued off-campus throughout the week and through the weekend.
According to the Faculty Association website, they say that University administration “proposals for deep structural cuts to both the Windsor Salary Standard and PTR, with serious long-term consequences for our members, remain on the table.”
They also say that “the mood on campus is frustrated, not fearful. Members feel disregarded and disrespected. Morale on campus is at an all-time low.”
The faculty’s contract expires today, and the University of Windsor received a no-board report from the Ministry of Labour, which puts the administration in a legal lock-out position as of 12:01am on Thursday, July 3rd.
The Faculty Association represents more than 850 academic staff including faculty, librarians and sessional instructors. The association says that talks are scheduled to continue during Canada Day.
The University did not immediately reply to windsoriteDOTca’s request for comment.
