More Parkway Detours Start This Weekend

Starting Friday June 6th at 7pm, Howard Avenue north of Highway 3 to close for Parkway construction.

Parkway officials say that this closure is required to complete reconstruction of the intersection of Howard Avenue and Highway 3 as part of the Parkway.

The closure is limited to the area directly north of the Highway 3 intersection and will not impact local residents accessing homes on Howard Avenue north of Highway 3. Local traffic accessing the Southwood Lakes subdivision is also able to travel via Howard Avenue to Havens Drive.

In addition, Highway 401 traffic, both eastbound and westbound approaching the intersection of Highway 3 and Howard Avenue will be temporarily shifted into the Parkway multi-lane roundabout starting this weekend until the completion of the Highway 401 portion of the Parkway anticipated for later this year.

This traffic shift is required to construct the final configuration for Highway 401 and Highway 3 at the east end of the Parkway corridor.
