Delivering fresh local produce door to door in Windsor and Essex County has tripled business for Kingsville’s Lee and Maria’s Market.

The market begin delivering local produce to the door step of Windsor-Essex residents last year, and roughly 70 families received weekly or bi-weekly home deliveries of fresh produce from farms across the region.

That number has now grown to over 200 in every corner of Windsor-Essex. “It’s a new concept for local farmers,” said manager Kathy Black. “Instead of people having to drive to farmers markets, we bring the farm market directly to their door.”

The entire process is handled through the farms website LeeandMarias.com. Potential subscribers can sign-up online, pay automatically with their credit card, and manage their entire subscription online.

“More and more people are looking to eat healthy. We’re trying to make it easier for the busy family who doesn’t have time to go to the roadside stand, or the senior who can’t always get out to a farm market when they want.”

Lee and Maria’s Market has been in business for 35-years, operating an on-farm market at the home Kingsville farm. Over 20 crops are grown on site, including field tomatoes, corn, beans, and melons.
