How can you beat the heat, possibly for free, this summer?
Local heating and cooling company Fahrhall thinks giving away an air conditioner to a family in need is a way to keep cool as temps rise.
Company officials say throughout the year they receive calls from families in need who have either fallen on hard times or who are dealing with illness and simply can’t afford to either fix their furnace or air conditioner or purchase a new one if a breakdown occurs.
“Our hearts go out to these families. The temperatures here can be extreme. Proper heating and cooling is essential for creating a comfortable home environment and knowing that a family just doesn’t have the funds available to keep their home at a comfortable temperature truly is heartbreaking,” says Fahrhall home comfort specialist Tony O’Beid.
And Fahrhall specialist Tony Coppola says many people are greatly in need of assistance.
“This past winter we were able to lend a helping hand to the Windsor Youth Centre and repair their ductwork for them at no cost. And, last summer we were thrilled to be able to give away a brand new Lennox air conditioner to Rosemary Robinson, a Fahrhall customer for over 40 years.”
“Her air conditioner was malfunctioning and pumping warm air into her house during the hottest month of the year and seriously affecting her medical conditions. She needed help and we were so happy to be in the position to help her”.
Fahrhall’s contest to win a Lennox air conditioner is open to anyone in the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent region. Contestants can either nominate themselves or someone they know.
To enter, simply write a minimum of 250 words why you or the family you nominate should win the air conditioner. Submissions can be sent to [email protected] and must be received by Monday, June
30th at midnight. The winner will be announced on Monday, July 7th.
