The Walkerville Artist Co-Op is celebrating its grand opening in their new Walkerville location this weekend.

The co-op recently received a grant from the City of Windsor’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund which invests in locally-developed arts. This being the first time for the grant, the funding helps to support the City of Windsor’s vision of building a strong and stable creative community. The grant is set to be used by the co-op for updating the façade of the new location, and bringing a professional and creative look to the organization.

“We are very proud of what we have accomplished in such a short time,” says Chris Ford. “Thanks to the city of Windsor and the Arts and Culture Heritage Fund for their support, the $3,500grant will go a long way to give us a professional look.”

The artist co-op aims to encompass a welcoming atmosphere that is relaxed and sophisticated. Products include pottery, fashion, fine art, jewellery, home décor and more. There is something for everyone. This is a place where artists come together, promote each other and sell the public hand crafted products.

The grand opening will take place Friday May 9th from 7pm to 10pm where those who attend will be served wine and food, live entertainment, art and the opportunity to meet the artists.
