Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.
Meteorologists say thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain have formed over Southwestern Ontario and Southeastern Michigan. The scattered thunderstorms will move southeast over the next several hours.
Environment Canada says these thunderstorms are capable of producing heavy downpours with 20mm to 40mm of rain locally in a short period.
