Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Foundation and Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation have agreed to amalgamate and filed an “application for letters patent of amalgamation” which they have requested be made effective as of May 1st, 2014.
As a result of the successful realignment between Windsor Regional Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital last October, the two Foundation’s Board of Directors felt it was a natural transition toward moving forward into the future as well as being aligned to assist with funding ultimately for a new single-site acute care hospital.
Donors such as corporations, financial institutions, industry, service clubs, third party groups and individuals will see no change or difference in their day to day relationships with the newly named Windsor/Essex Hospitals Foundation. The same stewardship and relationships will continue where, their options to donate to designated programs and services and/or capital medical equipment continues at each of the three locations: Met Campus and Ouellette Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. All tax receipting will be issued by the Windsor/Essex Hospitals Foundation.
“This seemed like the natural progression as a result of the two hospitals realigning last fall and, as one, eliminate any confusion or competition,” stated Ilias Kiritsis, President/Board Chair of the former Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.
“We look forward to coming together for the betterment of the community and continue working within our region to assist the needs of the Windsor hospitals,” said Richard Vennettilli, President/Board Chair of the former Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital Foundation.
The new Windsor/Essex Hospitals Foundation has administration offices at both Windsor Regional Hospital locations, located at 1995 Lens Avenue on the First Floor West and 1030 Ouellette Avenue in First Floor Administration.
