Food Matters Windsor Essex County has extended their Food Charter survey until May 16th.

Food Matters will be accommodating a number of agencies and organizations who are interested in Food Charter presentations and the extension will allow time for that.

At the end of this week Food Matters reports they they have completed 18 Food Charter information sessions which have been engaging community members in libraries around Windsor Essex County. There have also been a number of presentations to groups and organizations.

“A Food Charter is about a community”, says Food Matters Coordinator Michele Legere. “While we launched the online Food Charter survey, it has also been very important for us to talk face-to-face with community members to receive feedback and we want to ensure we use every opportunity to talk about this important document.”

“We’ve heard a lot of people talk about the importance of local food” says Ms. Legere. “But also the lack of cooking skills, the need for affordable food for all and food as health prevention have all been topics we’ve discussed.”

The survey can be found online here.
