A 16-year-old boy was killed in a crash in Essex County, Friday night.

Emergency crews rushed to Essex County Road 50 near Gloucester Drive at approximately 9:50pm Friday for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Police say Andrew Gyorgy, 16, of Essex, was struck by a westbound vehicle while he was headed westbound pushing his dirt bike.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Essex County Road 50 between Wright Road and Meadows Road (County Road 14) has been re-opened.
