With Free Comic Book Day less than a month away, one local store has big plans for the event.

On Saturday, May 3rd, Paper Heroes – Comic Book Lounge and Collectibles located at 2857 Howard Avenue will host two of the biggest local names in the industry. Artists David Finch and Johnny Desjardins will be at the store signing autographs for fans from 11am to 3pm.

Finch’s credits include Ultimate X-Men, Avengers, Batnan: The Dark Knight and the DC mini-series, Forever Evil. The Lasalle-native is reportedly set to take over art on Wonder Woman as well, according to Bleeding Cool. As for Desjardins, he is probably best known for his work on Vampirella, while his resume includes such titles as The Green Hornet and Legendary.

While these are big names, they won’t be the only people stopping-in at Paper Heroes on Free Comic Book Day. Twisted Studio’s artists Paul Reaume and Dave Rocha will be unhand in addition to April Fawler, writer and artist of local-imprint Glass Monkey Studios’ Apes In The Woods.

Beyond comic book talent itself, the store will have plenty for everyone. Patio Palace, Jeff’s Fresh Meats and Tiffany’s Family Restaurant will sponsor a BBQ for all visitors. Cosplayers will be in attendance, face painting will be provided for children and everyone can enjoy some baked goods.

For more information on the store, their hours and what they have to offer, those interested can call 519-969-7277 or visit their facebook page.
