Two teenagers have been rushed to hospital after they were rescued from freezing water near Belle River when their jet ski overturned earlier Sunday afternoon.
Police say two 18-year-old males from Lakeshore were operating their jet ski from Pike Creek to Belle River when it became disable due to high waves and overturned.
One of the men was able to contact his father who contacted police.
The OPP marine unit was able to pull the men from the lake.
EMS rushed both men — who were suffering from hypothermia — to hospital in Windsor with the help of a police escort.
One of the men is in temporary critical but stable condition and the other man is in satisfactory condition.
Police say it’s estimated that the water temperature at the time was 34 degrees.
