Canadian Olympic speed-skating and cycling medalist Clara Hughes is in Windsor today.
Hughes spoke this afternoon at the 13510 Tecumseh Road East Bank of Montreal location, visited Kennedy High School, two local grade schools and will speak at the Ciociaro Club about her battle with mental illness.
Hughes kicked off a 110 day journey across Canada on Friday to promote conversation about mental health.
The journey, which will come to an end on Canada Day in Ottawa, will cover 12,000km and visit 95 communities along the way.
Organizers say Clara’s Big Ride will help to build awareness and acceptance for mental illness.
