Windsor firefighters have extinguished an apartment fire in downtown Windsor.
Crews were called to the 200 block of Erie Street West just before 5pm and found smoke billowing from a second story windows of a combined commercial/apartment building.
Smoke was thick and could be seen clearly down Erie Street in the afternoon sun.
Firefighters arrived and quickly put the blaze out. Crews broke windows to let smoke escape.
The cause is listed as careless smoking and caused $30,000 in damage.
