Distracted Driving Fines To Jump To $280

On March 18th, 2014 the fine for distracted driving will increase to $225 from the current $125 fine. Court costs will make the total fine $280.
Windsor Police continue to warn the community of the dangers associated with distracted driving, which includes talking & texting on phones. One moment of inattention could lead to fatal consequences.
Police say that in 2012, they issued 306 tickets and in 2013 they issued 397 tickets. So far this year they have issued 20 tickets for distracted driving.
