Windsor Woman Killed After Icy Crash In Kentucky

A Windsor family is devastated after a serious crash in Kentucky claimed the life of a local woman.

Svetlana Frkovic died after the car she was a passenger in hit a patch of black ice and spun into the path of an oncoming transport truck.

Police say the crash took place on I-75, 2 miles south of London, Kentucky, in the southbound lane near mile marker 36 around 1:50am.

Sheriff John Root says Svetlana Frkovic, the rear-seat passenger in the car, was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver, Slavko Frkovic, and front seat passenger Sanja Frkovic were taken to UK hospital in Lexington with serious injuries.

Friends of the family tell windsoriteDOTca the family was headed to Florida for vacation.
