St. Rose Avenue in Riverside will finally get the TLC it needs after plans for repaving were put on hold.

The planned reconstruction of St. Rose between Lauzon and Virginia was put on hold for a year last February while Union Gas updated buried infrastructure in the area.

City Council is being asked to approve redoing the street from the ground up with new sewers, watermains, curbs, gutters and pavement.

The street is one of Riverside’s original thoroughfares, has been in poor condition for several years and at no point ever had actual curbs or gutters.

J & J Lepera Infrastructure Inc was the low bidder on a tender to reconstruct the road at a cost of $2,369,000.
