The Seattle Seahawks are headed to the Super Bowl and LaSalle native and Villanova Wildcats alumnus Luke Willson will be joining them.

Willson, #82, a tight end with the Seahawks, graduated from St. Thomas of Villanova as Athlete of the Year, was drafted into the CFL by the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 and was a 5th round draft pick for the Seahawks in the 2013 NFL Draft.

An NFL rookie, Willson scored his first NFL touchdown in December after playing 14 games.

“He’s done a really nice job of picking up the offense, fitting in where he needs to be, doing the right things all the time and then, when he gets opportunities to make plays, he’s made them. That speaks volumes for him.” said offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell in an NFL.com interview in December.

The Superbowl isn’t the end-all for Willson either. He’s a Team Canada athlete and will be representing Canadians in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio as a decathlete.

Catch Willson at Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday February 2nd when the Seahawks take on the Denver Broncos.
