The main drive for Coats for Kids may have distributed coats back on November 2nd, but a local business is still collecting warm winter wear for area children.
“It’s sad to think that there are children in our community without proper coats to get them through the winter,” says Karey Menzies, co-owner of SKinov8ive, a cosmetic beauty salon in Tecumseh. “Coats for Kids is a wonderful program and we’re proud to be participating. We encourage our clients and everyone in the community to assist us in this cause.”
Coats for Kids is a program administered by the Unemployed Help Centre in Windsor. Every year, they collect, clean and distribute more than 5,000 coats to children and youth in the Windsor-Essex region and distribute the coats in early November.
Donations will be collected throughout the winter season and can be dropped off at SKinov8ive during the day at their Tecumseh location, 13300 Lanoue Street (just off Manning Road behind McDonalds).
