This December, the Windsor Parade Corporation will be celebrating its 45th year presenting the Windsor Santa Claus Parade.

“We want you to help us celebrate this occasion by posting your favourite picture or memory of a Windsor Santa Claus Parade from previous years,” said Maggie Durocher, Windsor Parade Corporation. “With the help of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, we have created a Facebook Photo Contest. The winner will be recognized as the official Grand Marshall of the 45th Annual Windsor Santa Claus parade taking place at 6 pm on Saturday, December 7th, and will receive an official prize pack from the Merchants of Olde Sandwich Towne, the official presenting parade sponsor.”

The entries can be posted at www.facebook.com/visitwindsoressex – click on the “Photo Contest” tab and follow the directions. Each photo is open to receiving votes. Once the contest has closed on Wednesday, December 4th, the top three with the most votes will be scored by an independent group of judges.

The winner will be announced on December 5th.

“Windsor Parade Corporation’s efforts in Windsor, Amherstburg, Essex and Kingsville need to be applauded. For more than four decades they’ve created lasting memories that have bonded communities, created enough moments to fill dozens of photo albums and provided the perfect start to holiday celebrations,” said Gordon Orr, CEO, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. “This holiday season invite your out of town family and friends to come visit and witness holiday magic by taking in a regional parade or two.”
