This weekend, you will be able to tour the historic Walkerville Theater in the heart of Olde Walkerville.
According to The Walkerville Times, the theatre debuted in 1918 as “The Walkerville Theatre” and was designed by the same architect who created Detroit’s Fox Theatre and Music Hall.
The theatre was also known as the “Tivoli Theatre” from the 1930′s onward and showed movies along with stage performances.
This past July the theater was purchased by Mary Lambros of Lorelei’s Bistro – which is located next door.
The theater has since undergone renovations with plans to hold neighbourhood events, fundraisers, mystery dinner theatre and more.
The open house takes place both Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. The box office will also be open to purchase tickets for upcoming events.
