Cyclist Hurt After Car Door Swung Open

Windsor Police are looking for witnesses and a driver after a cyclist crashed into a car door.
A woman was riding her bicycle around 2pm Wednesday in the 1200 block of Monmouth when the driver of a parked vehicle suddenly flung open the drivers door.
The cyclist struck the door and was injured. She landed on the roadway and was injured.
A passerby stopped and called an ambulance and also called the victim’s sister.
The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The sister of the victim arrived at the scene and spoke with the woman who had opened the car door. She recorded her first name and licence plate information.
Police have not been able to locate the owner of the identified vehicle.
Police are asking for witnesses to call with any information they may have.
The victim suffered broken bones in her neck and a cut to the right side of her neck. She experienced temporary paralysis to her right arm. Her injuries are considered to be non life threatening.
