The public is invited to come out and take part in a community tree planting at the proposed Cedar Creek Provincial Park this Sunday.

Approximately 150 native trees will be planted at the proposed park, located on the south side of Concession 3, one kilometre west of Arner Townline, in Essex. This planting is part of Restoring Conservation Lands, an Environment Canada EcoAction grant awarded to the Essex Region Conservation Authority that enables the community to be an active part of restoring lands within Essex County.

Planting starts at 10am and runs to 1pm. A light lunch will be available for all volunteers. High school students can earn community service hours by taking part in the tree planting. This planting is rain or shine and volunteers should dress for the weather, and boots are recommended.

For more information, please contact Caroline Biribauer, Outreach Coordinator, at 519-776-5209, ext. 245, toll free at 1-888-487-4760, or [email protected].
