In May of this year, Lowe’s Canada donated $50,000 to the Windsor community as part of the Lowe’s Community Rink Renovation Program.
Over one weekend in June, Lowe’s employees joined vendors, volunteers and City of Windsor staff, all donating their time and skills to the task in both day and night shifts, to complete an extensive renovation, including much-needed repairs and upgrades to the rink facilities at Forest Glade Arena.
These renovations included repainting of the entire facility, accessibility improvements to signage and doorways, extensive floor resurfacing and more.
To celebrate the project’s successful completion, an unveiling ceremony and free public skate will be held this Saturday from 1pm to 4pm.
An opening ceremony including speeches, local minor team hockey line up and official puck drop will take place at 1:30pm, followed by free public skate, photo op with Puckster the Hockey Canada Mascot, Lowe’s Build and Grow clinic, face painting and media tours of the facility.
